About

The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) promotes an efficient, viable, and inclusive nonprofit sector that supports the growth, learning, and development of young professionals. We engage and support future nonprofit and community leaders through professional development, networking and social opportunities designed for young people involved in the nonprofit community.

What We Do:

  3rd Wednesday After-Hours and Lunches: Monthly informal networking opportunity after hours at O’Neills on Central and over lunch at the Range Cafe on Menaul.

  Networking Events: Fun and creative ways to meet other young people engaged in the nonprofit sector.

  Online YNPN Directory: Use this Directory to schedule a phone conversation, a breakfast or lunch by calling or emailing someone else in the Network who works in a similar position, has skills you want to develop, or shares some common interests!  Consider scheduling a group meeting around a certain skill area (ie: Event Management, Volunteer Recruitment, etc).  To be part of this Directory, complete the membership form on our website.

  Professional Development/ Leadership Workshops and Trainings: Provided by YNPN Central New Mexico and scholarships to Center for Nonprofit Excellence’s trainings.  See www.centerfornonprofitexcellence.org.

  Leadership Luncheon Panels: Lunch meetings with young and veteran community nonprofit leaders discussing issues critical to leadership in the sector.

History:

YNPN Central New Mexico formed in the Spring of 2007 as enln- the emerging nonprofit leadership network.  In the Fall of 2009 enln became a Chapter of the national Young Nonprofit Professionals Network.  This connects us with other chapters around the country interested in advancing young leadership in the nonprofit sector and applying best practices to local communities.

YNPN Central New Mexico has steadily grown over the last several years, with more resources, more networking opportunities, more leadership training and more members.  If you have suggestions for how YNPN can be of value to you and programs you’d like to see implemented, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

In addition to YNPN’s tireless board members, The Center for Nonprofit Excellence, United Way of Central New Mexico has been supportive of the growth and development of YNPN.
